The STC Canada West Coast chapter has been honoured for its activities in 2017 with a Gold Achievement Award from the STC, the world’s leading organization for advancing technical communication.
“It’s an honour that our chapter is being recognized for all our hard work and community engagement,” said Serena Beck, President of the chapter. “We have an exceptional team of directors, coordinators, and volunteers and we couldn’t have done it without them. Thank you to our great team of volunteers and chapter members!”
The award citation reads: “For partnering with educational institutions to promote chapter events and student membership, using incentive programs to encourage volunteering, and creating virtual meeting opportunities for a widespread membership.”
The chapter will be recognized during the Leadership Program on Sunday, May 20, at the 2018 STC Summit in Orlando, Florida.
The last Community Achievement Award won by STC Canada West Coast chapter was in 2012/2013, when the chapter won a Community of Excellence award, the second-highest of the four levels of community awards.
