Invitation to Attend
Dear Member,
You are invited to attend the STC Canada West Coast’s annual general meeting. This meeting will immediately precede our professional development event on April 15, 2014. The agenda will include the president’s report, the treasurer’s report, and the election of directors for the 2014-2015 program year (June 1 to May 31).
If you are a member, please arrive prior to the start of the meeting,
which is 6:30 pm.
The Election Process
Our bylaws call for the vice president to automatically become president a year after being elected. As the next immediate past president, I look forward to supporting Autumn Jonssen, who will serve the chapter as president in the upcoming program year.
Our current secretary, Moise Potie, and treasurer, Mark Matsuno, have accepted nominations for re-election to their respective roles. Members in good standing may also nominate themselves or be nominated for the secretary and treasurer roles. Should Moise or Mark run unopposed, election occurs by acclamation.
Call for Vice President Nominations
As the role of vice president will become vacant as of June 1, 2014, we are currently seeking members in good standing to put their names forward for election. It is a professionally rewarding and personally fulfilling challenge. If the VP position fits with your capacities and interests, please contact Heather Sommerville at volunteer@stcwestcoast.ca. Nominations are closed as of March 28, 2014.
Heather, who is an STC associate fellow, is serving as chair of the nominations committee, as well as an adviser to the board and our volunteer coordinator. You will want to provide her with your professional background, your history with the STC, and the ideas and initiatives you would support.
I look forward to seeing you at the AGM, as a candidate or member participant.
Kind regards,
Aaron Fultz
