The Society for Technical Communication (STC) Canada West Coast chapter is offering full reimbursement of the $75 (US) annual STC student membership fee for up to 20 post-secondary students in British Columbia.

To be eligible, students must provide proof of current enrollment at a post-secondary technical, professional, or business writing program in British Columbia, either full or part-time.

“This is a great way for students to enjoy the benefits of an STC membership at no cost,” said Serena Beck, membership coordinator. “They can learn the latest tech writing software tools from industry experts, and meet and network with other members at social events.” The membership also includes access to job postings, STC epubs such as Intercom and Technical Communication, and reduced rates for local workshops and STC education courses.

STC certification as a tech writer is another potential benefit of membership. “The Certified Professional Technical Communicator designation is a great way to validate your skills and establish a professional presence,” said Serena. After getting certified, she received a promotion.
