The STC Canada West Coast chapter is delighted to announce that registration is now open for our full-day, hands-on Introduction to Madcap Flare training course, to be held at BCIT’s downtown campus on Saturday, March 11.
Madcap Flare is the current power tool of choice for single-source authoring by tech writers. You can output to print, web, and mobile, and create help system layouts in the classic tripane style or the newer, more sophisticated top-navigation style.
Flare is powerful but if you’ve never used it before, you’ll need help getting started. That’s were we come in.
Our course is designed specifically for technical writers who have never used Flare before and have limited experience with online help systems. Please read the attached outline to get a clear idea of what the course will cover.
The course will run from 9 am to 4:30 pm. The cost is $250 for non-STC members and includes a manual and completion certificate.
The instructor will be chapter member Catherine Girczyc, Manager of Technical Communications at Western Union Business Solutions, and an expert Flare user.
Catherine’s teaching credits include technical writing courses at Vancouver Community College and screenwriting courses at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
To register, go to https://stcwestcoast.ca/registration. You can pay by credit card.
The number of seats is limited! Register today.
