Information Interview Payment

The STC Canada West Coast chapter’s Information Interview Service gives you the opportunity to talk one-on-one with a volunteer senior technical writer.

Some common information interview objectives can be:

• You’re a technical writing student, and conducting an interview is part of your course work.
• You’re considering entering the field of technical writing as a first or second career and want to learn about training, education, job-hunting, pay ranges, skills, tools, or career planning.
• You’re already a technical writer but you want to speak to a more experienced writer about a current issue or problem.

Interviews are usually 30- to 60-minutes interview (timing at the discretion of the senior writer), either in person, online, or on the phone.

To request an information interview, email us. Include your telephone number and a sentence or two about your situation and why you want an interview, so we can match you with a suitable interviewee.

We suggest an optional donation of $25 for the service. The donation helps our chapter offer program events and other benefits to our members.
